The Salzburg Festival
Every summer, the world-famous Salzburg Festival takes over Salzburg. The city of Mozart is virtually transformed into a giant stage over several weeks during the festival season. Culture lovers head to the Old Town for its opera, theater, and top-notch entertainment and international stars such as Anna Netrebko, Roland Villazón, and Riccardo Muti. With the free Siemens Festival>Nights at the Kapitelplatz, everyone can experience a first-class cultural program up close.
Museum der Moderne Salzburg
The Museum der Moderne Salzburg presents internationally acclaimed modern and contemporary art at two locations – on the Mönchsberg in one of the world’s most beautiful squares and in the Rupertinum, a baroque town house in the center of the Old Town.
Hellbrunn Palace & Hellbrunn Trick Fountains
In 1615, a site was to be built unlike any other. Located just outside the city of Salzburg, the Hellbrunn fountains glisten in a gorgeous and seemingly unending manicured park directly in front of Hellbrunn Palace. The prince archbishop Markus Sittikus surrendered himself to the beautiful idyll within these walls. Pleasure palaces like this were especially popular at this time.
