Best attractions in the local area
The Salzburg Festival
Each summer the world famous Salzburg Festival takes over the city of Salzburg. The city of Mozart’s birth is transformed into a giant stage and the festival runs over a number of weeks. Opera, theatrical productions and concerts of the highest quality are performed and international stars such as Anna Netrebko, Roland Villazón and Riccardo Muti attract thousands of fans of culture to the old quarter. The free Siemens Fest>Spiel>Nächte, which are screenings of festival productions, are held at Kapitel Square and ensure that everyone can enjoy this high quality cultural programme.
Museum der Moderne Salzburg
The Museum der Moderne Salzburg exhibits modern and contemporary art of international importance in two buildings in two different locations; the Mönchsberg is reputed to be one of the most beautiful locations in the world and the Rupertinum is a baroque town house in the centre of the old quarter of the city.
Hellbrunn Palace & Hellbrunn Trick Fountains
In 1615 a place was meant to be created like no other. On the outskirts of Salzburg the Hellbrunn Trick Fountains sparkle in an extensive and beautifully kept park directly in front of Hellbrunn Palce. Within these walls, the Prince Bishop Markus Sittikus indulged in the good life – pleasure palaces were very popular at this time.
