Just a few steps from the JUFA Alpenhotel is the base station of the Schattberg X-press ski lift, from where you can launch yourself into the seemingly endless expanse of the Saalbach-Hinterglemm ski area.
With 270 kilometres of ski trails and 70 modern lifts in one of Austria’s largest skiing regions, you won’t be disappointed! And you’ll also find everything you need for family skiing: With enclosed areas for kids and gentle practice slopes, it’s ideal for those venturing onto skis or snowboards for the first time.

The world-famous Saalbach-Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn ski area is a skiing region with seemingly endless, snowy slopes in a captivating landscape. 270 kilometres of ski trails, 70 cable cars and ski lifts make it one of Austria’s largest skiing regions. Blue, red and black pistes offer a range of slopes for beginners, families and experts – pure skiing enjoyment! In addition, the ski area also offers extensive ski circuits for hours of skiing pleasure.

Reiterkogel toboggan run
Tobogganing is fun for all the family! Best of all: use of the toboggan run at Reiterkogel in Hinterglemm (daytime and evening) is included in the price of your ski pass.
For safety reasons, the Reiterkogel toboggan run may only be used with toboggans provided by the lift company. You must not use your own toboggans or other winter sports equipment.

Motorised winter sports enthusiasts will find all they want and more in Snowmobile City. Individuals or groups can hire a skidoo for racing on a perfectly prepared track. You can also ride in the passenger seat of a snow cat and, under expert supervision, drive the heavyweight vehicle on your own. The snow lodge in the Snowmobile City area can be booked exclusively for groups or companies (reservation necessary).
Freestyle unlimited by day and night – that’s what the Night Park in Hinterglemm near the “Unterschwarzachbahn” cable car is all about! The huge snow park near the village centre offers various attractive freestyle lines: easy, medium and pro. The pure kicker or rail lines offer the perfect line for each level. Obstacles of all kinds, such as the new Gap Kicker, the Spine, a Wallride and the 22=metre-long Kombi-Box, offer pure freestyling enjoyment.
The Freeride Park in Leogang near the “Asitzmuldenbahn” cable car is dedicated to two fashionable sports: freeride and freestyle. The park is the ideal arena for the innovative and ingenious combination of deep snow for freeriders and obstacles such as kickers for freestylers.

High-wire adventure park
Looking for action and a pure adrenaline rush? This park offers excitement over 8 kilometres, 200 different stations and 30 zip wires at various levels between 3 and 40 metres. The high-wire adventure park in Saalbach Hinterglemm is the largest in Europe and is a fun challenge that combines conditioning, courage and sport.
Mega Flying Fox Hinterglemm
Almost as good as flying! The Mega Flying Fox lets you hurtle high across the Glemmtal valley 4 times, covering a distance of 2.5 km. A total of 6 zip wires are available for the flights, offering breathtaking views. The zip wires are up to 120 m high and passengers reach speeds of up to 80 km/h while zooming through the air.
Die-hard mountain bikers will find two pump tracks for practice and warm-up. The Wieserauberg pump track is located directly behind the Hinterglemm football pitch. It consists of a circuit with waves, steep turns, doubles and tabletops as well as a small dirt line with two kickers. For all mountain bikers who want to improve their riding technique and exercise their upper arms, the pump track near the Spielberghaus on the Kohlmais mountain is the ideal place. Mountain biking enthusiasts are invited to ride an extra circuit or two on the fun pump track set up by professionals behind the Spielberghaus.
Fishing and archery
Concentration and endurance is what you need while fishing and practising archery at the Bärenbach fishing pond in Saalbach, which offers fishing enjoyment for patient visitors of all ages. Any fish you catch in the Bärenbach pond is cooked for you immediately in the restaurant or prepared for you to take away. If you haven’t got the time or patience for fishing, you can aim for the bullseye on the archery targets at the Bärenbach pond.
Montelino’s adventure trail
On the adventure trail in Saalbach Hinterglemm, families learn the story of the Montelino clown whose friends and toys the children are invited to hunt for. The adventure starts with a cable car ride to the top of the Kohlmais mountain. To help with the hunt, children are given a pass at the base station together with their cable car ticket. With a total walking time of about 90 minutes over a distance of 3 km or so, the mountain adventure on the Kohlmais is to the perfect way to have fun with the kids while spending from half a day to a day on the mountain. Montelino’s adventure trail is accessible for prams and buggies. Visiting the adventure trail is free of charge.
