Location
The JUFA Schloss Röthelstein/Admont*** Family & Conference hotel is located high above the town of Admont in the northern part of Upper Styria. It is a perfect base from which to embark on infinite adventures and can be reached easily by car via the A9.
Arriving by car
Travelling from Graz: Route 1 Travelling on the A9 Phyrn motorway – take the Liezen exit – stay on the main road until you reach Admont – continue on through the town towards Kaiserau – turn right up towards the Moosbrugger saw mill – you have reached your destination: Castle Röthelstein. Route 2 Take the Trieben exit off the motorway – continue over the Kaiserau mountain – when you have crossed the Kaiserau follow the signs to “JUFA Schloss Röthelstein” – turn left directly after the bridge onto Röthelsteinstrasse / Schlossstrasse.
Travelling from Salzburg: Travelling on the A10 Tauern motorway – take the Radstadt exit – continue on until Liezen – from Liezen continue on the main road until you reach Admont – carry on through the town towards Kaiserau – turn right up towards the Moosbrugger saw mill – you have reached your destination: Castle Röthelstein.

Eisenstein Water Amusement Park

Gesäuse National Park

Admont Benedictine Monastery
The monastery was formerly described as one of the eight wonders of the world. Its 11 metre high monastic library hall is the largest in the world, which to this day still has a magnificent timeless quality. Architecturally, the library was masterfully designed and it houses centuries-old volumes of books on a range of elegantly designed furniture. Secret doors hidden behind false book shelves are there to be discovered. As one of the largest complete works of art from the European Late Baroque period, the Admont Monastery Library features artworks from a range of genres, including architecture, frescoes, sculptures, manuscripts and prints.
Rafting and Canyoning
There is plenty of wild fun and adventure to be enjoyed when rafting and canyoning. Be guided through the rapids by our fully trained guides. Scramble through dramatic ravines and abseil into waterfalls. Big and small jumps are both allowed. Enjoy a genuine adventure in a wild natural setting.
Radmer Copper Mine

The Gams Kraus Caves
The Gams Kraus Caves are the only gypsum crystal caves in the German speaking world. Discovering the filigree structures that have formed from gypsum crystal, stalactites and “mountain milk“ (named after the milky white rock layers) is certain to be a memorable experience.

Kaiserau Ski Resort
The perfect ski resort for beginners. You can keep a good eye on your children on the 3km long pistes, which are also good training slopes for adults learning how to ski. Young ski fiends can gain lots of experience and put the slopes to the test at the Raiffeisen Kinderland. There is plenty of sporty adventure and action-packed winter fun to be had on the 5km long cross country ski trail and the equally long winter toboggan run.

The Gams Kraus Caves
The stalactites, gypsum crystal and “mountain milk“ formations that are found at the gypsum crystal caves are unique in the whole of the German speaking world. Natural monuments of this kind can only be found in France and North America. The cave was closed in 1881. An old wooden ladder is evidence of explorations of the caves in former times, which gives a tour to the caves an additional nostalgic feel.
