Lucas Cranach workshop: Painter of Princes
The court painter Lucas Cranach frequently tasked others with preparing his portraits. At the Franconian Gallery, workshop participants first closely inspect paintings of the two electors and brothers, Frederick the Wise and John the Steadfast. They then try their hand at portraying our "modern princes" – either the German Chancellor or the Painter Prince Cranach – just like the journeymen in the master’s workshop using stencils and by dividing up the labor.
Here you’ll find an overview of educational programs for students in Kronach. Seminar and workshop rooms, a medieval fortress complex, studio rooms, a playground and a campfire site are available, along with numerous outdoor activities.
