Graz Clock Tower at the Schlossberg

The Graz Mur Island is a swimming platform in the Mur, in the middle of Graz. Austrian Stübing Open-Air Museum – Open-air Folk Museum
The Stübing open air museum is among the 10 largest and most impressive open air museums in Europe. On a stroll right through Austria, the historic farm buildings tell exciting stories about the life, work and celebrations of the peasant culture of that time.
The village pond, a panoramic view, children’s areas, rest areas, picnic areas and temporary special exhibitions and events all make a family outing to the Open-air Museum a memorable experience.
The Art of Magic
In the association of the first Graz Magic Theatre your children can experience the magic of professional children’s magicians. The Rettenbach Gorge is easy to reach by tram (take line 1) and via the Mariatrost cycle path. A walk through the gorge, which is overgrown with ferns and moss, is particularly delightful. Buschenschanken (rustic wine taverns) can also be found in the area around the Rettenbach Gorge. They are usually only found in South Styria. You will have a lovely time walking over the hills near Mariatrost to the Stephanie observation tower on the plateau.

Buschenschanken (wine taverns), the “Apple Road” and “Styrian Tuscany”
If you continue south on the Murrad cycle route, you will reach the beautiful Styrian wine growing region, which is often referred to as the “Styrian Tuscany”. You can easily reach the numerous traditional Styrian Buschenschanken (wine taverns) by car. You can enjoy a number of regional dishes, including the famous “Brettljause”, which is a type of cold meat platter, and also fine wines and organic fruit juices. Buschenschanken are usually located in beautiful surroundings and are magical places for children. On the 25 kilometre long “Apple Road” in Eastern Styria you will come across fruit farms where you can sample delicious fresh fruit, juices, fine brandies, freshly pressed must and apple schnapps.
