Gently rolling hills as far as the eye can see make every hiking trip a special experience. However, the Nockberge mountains are much more than juicy green, they are home to the largest stock of spruce, larch and stone pine forests of the Eastern Alps. Greenpeace awarded the reserve, with its hilly peaks and pine forests, a climate protection award.
It is an outstanding destination for hiking holidays. Discover the heartwarming native fauna, which specifically includes red deer and chamois. Enjoy the panorama of the Nockberge mountains. The idyllic Turrach heights are located on the border between the provinces of Carinthia and Styria, at an altitude of 1.763 metres. 3 lakes and an upland high moor beckon adventurers to hike, practise nordic walking, run, or simply enjoy. The Nockberge Mountains are a very well-maintained and protected natural and cultural landscape.
