Have you ever slept in a Mars room? What does Jupiter have to do with the colour orange? Why is the furniture in the Venus room made of birch wood and why are we so interested in the planets?

The JUFA Nördlingen has come up with a unique room concept dedicated to the planets. Each room has been allocated to a planet and furnished and decorated accordingly.

The planet garden also provides guests with an opportunity to see the various woods growing.

Around 15 million years ago, a meteorite struck an area close to the town of Nördlingen and left a circular impact crater. This is referred to as the "Rieskrater" or simply the "Ries" and has left a lasting mark on the landscape.

The JUFA Nördlingen is located right next to the town walls of Nördlingen and is the ideal starting point for a journey of discovery back in time.

One of the defence towers houses a historical exhibition on medieval Nördlingen, which did not remain unaffected by witch burnings, torture and the Thirty Years War.

Children have the opportunity to engage in such activities as making their own knight’s shield, recreating the headdresses worn by damsels of the castle and building medieval musical instruments.

And a real children’s paradise is located in the nearby town of Günzburg: LEGOLAND Deutschland. LEGOLAND extends over an area equivalent to 26 football fields and is divided into eight thematic areas. This astonishing attraction is the perfect venue for a family tour of discovery.

We know that children learn through play. For this reason, the JUFA Nördlingen has provided a children’s playroom featuring a wide selection of picture books, puzzles and wooden toys and offering sufficient space to explore, try things out or simply romp around.

The Ravensburger Games Bar contains entertaining games to put everyone in a good mood.

Sportily inclined guests will have plenty of opportunity to display their skills in volleyball, football or giant chess on the huge grassed area between JUFA and the medieval town walls.

Pool, table football games and a host of other activities are available indoors should the weather refuse to play ball. A cycle hire service is also available to all guests.
