Lake Grundlsee is located in the salt mining region of Styria, one of the most spectacular leisure landscapes of the Eastern Alps, embedded within the “Totes Gebirge” Mountain Range and crowned by the permanent ice of the Dachstein Massif.
The JUFA Grundlsee is set in a peaceful position directly beside the lake itself and exudes a cosy and romantic flair. The prevailing colours are bright and warm, and a traditional atmosphere is created by extensive use of wood. No two rooms are the same. Each has its own particular character. What they do have in common, however, is a cosy and comfortable feel. The accommodation also caters to disabled visitors by providing a lift and rooms specially adapted to meet the needs of blind guests.
The guesthouse’s own beach is a mecca for sun worshippers in the summer months whereas there is plenty of fun to be had by skaters on the frozen lake during winter.
The guesthouse is particularly family friendly, and there is always something new to discover for our younger guests. A large and airy playroom offers a wide range of games and wooden and cuddly toys and provides an ideal area for fun and laughter.
The absolute highlight for children with energy to burn is the large outdoor playground. The area around the guesthouse is far removed from any dangerous roads and noise and offers a safe environment for energetic play.
The grassed area gives children plenty of room to romp around, practise their football or play at cowboys and Indians in a real tepee. There is also a campfire site where barbecues are held in the evenings.
